The press wrote about “The Merry Widow”
Peer Kjær Andersen/ Kristeligt Dagblad 04.02.03
Here was warmth, intensity, the right atmosphere for an operetta, thanks to a harmonic and sensitive - but not sentimental - accompaniment from the orchestra pit, where Mogens Dahl with the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra fully supported the evening's soloists in "The Merry Widow." There were moments when time stood still and the small hairs on the back of the neck rose.
Erling Dissing/Flensborg Avis 10.03.03
Attention should be given to Mogens Dahl, who is capable of creating coherence and enterprise. With precision and authority, he creates confidence in the singers and orchestra in the Jyske Opera performance of "The Merry Widow." Both the orchestra and the choir thrive under his baton, and the soloists have the space they deserve as well.
Thomas Michelsen/Politiken 06.02.03
The music for "The Merry Widow" billows lyrically with attention on the songs from Aarhus Symphony Orchestra in Dahl's orchestra pit.
